Sri Lanka’s state-run water supply agency has asked customers not use piped drinking water to wash cars or irrigate plants and help avoid water cut, as a severe hot weather and a drought gripped the country. National Water Supply and Drainage Board Chairman B W R Balasuriya had warned that the agency may have to cut water if the high usage seen now continued, Sri Lanka’s The Sunday Times newspaper said.
